Holiday Flats

skip the heels, wear a sparkly flat

There are still holiday parties and family gatherings to attend- and of course, New Year’s Eve is around around the corner!  We always want to look put-together and party-ready, but sometimes we get tired of wearing heels, especially when we’ve been on our feet all day.  But, you can still look appropriately dressed and be comfortable.  I’ll show you how…

The key is picking a shoe that really stands out!  Sparkle instantly says, “holiday!”.  And, these sparkly flats really achieve that “holiday look” but still work with casual outfits, like jeans & a white tee or a comfy skirt and button down.  These have a classic shape that makes them super versatile.  So, these make a great wardrobe investment!

What do you prefer?  Silver or Gold?  You can find these here: http://tinyurl.com/bouqxeq

Accessorize Me: Kate Spade 2012

Check out my favorite accessories from Kate Spade or Fall/Winter 2012:

It officially feels like Fall in Austin, TX this week.  I turned my AC off and I’ve pulled out my favorite sweater wrap and ugg boots for lounging around and running errands.  For those of you who are already experiencing cold weather, do you own ear muffs?  I always think they look very “snow bunny” cute when I see them on women.

  1. Ear Muffs – These add texture and visual interest, something every outfit needs!  I love these!
  2. Faux Fur Infinity Scarf – The faux fur adds a touch of luxe, but also keeps you warm.
  3. Cheetah Belt – The cheetah can move along any part of the belt.  Wear it on the side to keep your look fresh.  And, I love that its patent leather, which always looks a little nicer!
  4. Quilted Hat – This is one of those hats that goes with lots of looks; its really versatile.  It will also make one of your boring everyday outfits look really stylish in a flash.  GREAT WARDROBE STAPLE.
  5. Sparkle Wool Felt Hat – This hat commands attention.  The sparkle adds a touch of femininity.  Perfect for a bad hair day.
  6. Polka Dot Scarf – The polka dot scarf is on trend and makes a powerful punch!

They are having a 30% off sale today, online only.  Use F12FFUS at checkout. :-)

I love them all, but the pink ear muffs are just too cute.

Which one is your favorite?

Cascade of sapphires on 14k gold filled chain!

Layers of 14k gold filled chain, 2 small hand-cut & textured gold discs, 4 rainbow moonstone gemstones!

These are some necklaces I have been working on.  I hope you love them!  Which one is your favorite?

Silicon Watches

I’ve had my eye on silicon watches for a while now.  (Some people refer to them as rubber watches.)  They are perfect for Austin, which is an outdoorsy city.  But, they’re practical for anyone really.  Here are a few that have caught my eye::

1 $85, 2 $125, 3 $76, 4 $30, 5 $45, 6 $25.

If you ask me, these would make a great gift or an inexpensive accessory to add to your wardrobe.  If you’re afraid to play with color in your clothing, these silicon watches are a great way to add that pop of color you might be craving!  Or, think about pairing them with a bunch of bracelets and bangles for a “street style” look.

My favorite is the white and gold.  No surprise there.  Which one do you like?

Belt Bag or Fanny Pack?

Inspired by this photo of Rihanna and the upcoming Austin City Limits (an outdoor concert in Austin, TX), I’ve decided to hunt for some leather belt bags.

  1. Thrifted Belt from blog Dresses on a Clothesline.
  2. By Box of Hollyhocks with many leather bags to choose from!
  3. Found on Bag Bliss by Diane Von Furstenberg.
  4. This is like a change purse that’s hooked onto a belt.  Found here.  Love this idea!
  5. Givinchy Spring 2012 found here.
  6. Fossil belt bag.  Old school version.  Here is similar.
  7. By Happy Cow found here.
  8. Also by Happy Cow. Found here.
  9. Akademiks bags.  Also comes in brown.
  10. Also by happy Cow, they call this one a waist pouch.
  11. This brown leather one calls itself a money bag.  Its also by Happy Cow here.
  12. Found here and available at target.com.
  13. Recycled leather hip pouch by Mark Simard.

Rachel Zoe Spring 2013

When fashion looks good AND is practical, I call it a win-win.  I’ve always thought fanny packs were a cool idea, but there were never stylish options to choose from until recently.  Some people call them hip pouch, hip bag, belt bag, fanny pack, or waist pouch.  I always called them fanny packs, but I supposed hip pouch or belt bag is cooler now. :)  What do you call them?
